Ultimate Christmas Playlist Day 25: Nat King Cole, ‘The Christmas Song’
What’s Christmas without classic music? This year we’re celebrating the holidays by letting our readers curate the Ultimate Christmas Playlist. Each day we’ll add one new song to our Spotify playlist on our way to Christmas Day. And I know you wanna add your favorite song, right?
Leave your selections on the comments of this post, at our Soul In Stereo Cypher Facebook page, hit me up on Twitter @etbowser, or email us at soulinstereoblog@gmail.com. Simply name your song and give us a sentence or so telling us why you love it.
A HUGE thanks to all our readers who contributed to this year’s Christmas playlist. It’s been an awesome experience. Y’all should be very proud of this collection of hits and overlooked favorites.
I’ll let John Hammontree close out the season in the best way possible.
“Nat King Cole’s ‘The Christmas Song’ is the perfect Christmas song. Every great Christmas song is a balance of nostalgia and melancholy and this is one of the most beautiful bittersweet songs there is. There’s a reason it’s the song usually used in movies when some sad dude is sitting in a bar a thousand miles away from his family. Shout out to all the people older than 92 though. I’ll still wish them a Merry Christmas, even if Nat won’t.”
