This year at Soul In Stereo, we’re spending 25 days featuring 25 of our favorite underrated Christmas songs — those songs that bring back wonderful memories, yet few people seem to know them. Let’s give those songs the shine they deserve.

I dare you to find a song — Christmas or otherwise — as powerful as this one. This song was so stirring that my childhood church choir sang it year-round. I don’t even mind Kirk Franklin talking all over the beat like a DJ Clue mixtape, it’s excusable when a song is THIS good. The reason for the season is echoed in every note.
