Flashback Friday: Rhymefest and Sharissa
Today, let’s turn back the clock and revisit a couple of forgotten artists who deserve revisiting.
Rhymefest, Blue Collar (2006)
I contend that Kanye West’s former cohort should be a much bigger name in hip-hop. His 2006 album was an underrated gem and it still holds up today. Fest combines wit and street sensibilities in a way few others can. Word on the Internet streets is that he’s releasing a new album this year. Let’s hope it measures up to this one.

Sharissa, No Half Steppin (2002)
Remember Sharissa and her 2002 earworm “Any Other Night?” It sounds like a song a cast member of Love & Hip Hop would release – which means it would be a HUGE hit in 2014. Her time in the spotlight was short but she’s still holding it down for the ladies.
