25 Songs of Christmas, Day 10: Carla Thomas, “Gee Whiz, It’s Christmas”

Here at Soul In Stereo, we’re counting down to Christmas by featuring our favorite holiday tracks. Here’s today’s Christmas classic:

Today’s track, submitted by Angel of Darkness, is one of my favorites but it kinda creeps me out too.

Carla Thomas runs into an old friend and gets all in this person’s face about what they’ve been doing since they last met, begs the poor person to go to a party and reminds the friend that it’s Christmastime. Playa, I’m pretty sure that person knows it’s Christmas. They  start running Christmas in like October.

Carla comes off like a straight-up stalker. No wonder that friend has been avoiding her. Oh well, this is still a hot song.
