Flashback Friday: John Legend and The Ruff Ryders
Three cheers for Friday. Look playas, if your week has been as hectic as mine, you’re probably crying tears of joy now that Friday has graced us with its presence. Let’s celebrate.
Kimberly Jackson ain’t just Ordinary People.
John Legend, Get Lifted (2004)
Kim said: “This CD was off the hook with the standout ‘Ordinary People.’ The CD talked about real life relationship issues. You see why he won Best New Artists at the Grammys that year.”

Ruff Ryders, Ryde or Die Vol. 1 (1999)
Edd said: “The Ruff Ryders weren’t just a rap crew. They were an entire culture of hip-hop. Motorcycles, Tims, bandanas and rugged lyrics were a way of life. That movement made DMX a rap legend (for better or worse), Eve a legitimate star, Swizz Beatz a superproducer and helped the floundering LOX become relevant again. The only one who got a raw deal was poor Drag-On, but even he enjoyed a hot single.”
