Flashback Friday: Redman and Nichole Nordeman

Another week down. Time to celebrate with more throwbacks!

Edward loves the 90s:

Redman, Muddy Waters (1996)

Edd said: I love when this generation’s rappers give props to artists who have influenced them but sadly Redman is almost always left off the list. Reggie has the perfect mix of lyricism and humor and his flow is equally manic and controlled. Busta Rhymes and Ludacris are the only artists who can hang with Red in those categories. Arguably, Bussa Bus and Luda never had an album as strong as Muddy Waters, which is often lost in the shuffle of other 90s classics. Hilarious storytelling and rapid-fire wordplay make Muddy Waters required listening. Aspiring rappers, do ya homework.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, here’s Javacia’s pick:

Nichole Nordeman, Wide Eyed, (1998)

Jai said: Not to get all preachy on a Friday, but this CD sparked amazing growth in my spiritual life during my freshman year of college, drawing me closer to God in a way I’d never before experienced.
