  1. My issue with this is that SO many people today think that they can make a jackass of a comment and then just apologize and everything is alright. Really? REALLY?? Give me a break.

Granted, apologies should be made and accepted but this is just going too damn far in my book. He meant what he said. And my thing is why is he apologizing? Is it because he truly knows that what he did was wrong? Or because he got a lot of flack from people? Is he really sincere?

Now, I know that it is not right for me to lump people together and by no means is that what I am trying to do here. However, this type of thing seems to have happened so much over the past couple of years, especially since Obama began his candidate for presidency and even more so when he won. I’m not saying that is wasn’t going on before then because indeed it was. But now it just seems to be so much more common place for people to just make racial remarks and consider them mainstream.

John Mayer even said that he tried to intelluctualize the “N” word and that he should have known that he cdouldn’t do that with a word that has cause so much pain and racial tension. I’m sorry but how ass-backwards is that? Are you kidding? You tried to “intellectualize” the “N” word?? Words can even describe how ridiculous I believe that sounds. Incidents like this one and the one with Don Imus make me think that people who say that racism no longer has a viable presence in today’s society are truly either living in a dream world, don’t care that it’s happening, are oblivious or are just not willing to admit that it still exists in 2010.

I feel that people have a right to their preferences and that you can date who you want or not date who you want but he just went way overboard and took it not just too far but even beyond to me.

People really need to think about what they say before they say it. You can be straightforward without being trifling in order to get your point across. This “oh I said something I shouldn’t have so now I have to give an apology so that people will leave me alone and I can move on” mentality has got to stop.

  2. I didn’t get mad until I saw this fool blubbering and crying on stage. Nobody told him to put is dirty draws in the street – be a man and own up to what you say!

But maybe he thinks that’s how he’ll worm his way back into the hearts of the ladies. Ladies love a sensitive man.
