Flashback Friday: Common and DMX

Y’all ready for a three day holiday weekend?

Well, if you’re reading this in the states.

And if you don’t work weekends

And if … well, let’s just wish everyone a happy Friday and get the music moving, shall we?

Common, The Dreamer/The Believer (2011)

Common’s new album Let Love hits today and though it may be odd to say, I consider him a little underrated. His catalog of hits is pretty impressive and it’s this one, his 2011 offering, that might be his most unappreciated. It’s not often mentioned when y’all debate the best albums of the decade. But it should be.

DMX, …And Then There Was X (1999)

Most Internet challenges wear out their welcome WAY too soon, but I gotta say, the DMX challenge – where ladies re-enact the women of X’s “What They Really Want” – is pretty funny. The Dark Man was at the peak of his commercial success when his third album dropped in ’99 so “What They Really Want” was probably a true story.
