Flashback Friday: Brian McKnight and Flatbush Zombies
Have y’all heard Usher’s new album A?
If you have, you have my apologies. If you haven’t, just read my review here and scroll down and listen to something good.
Brian McKnight, Anytime (1997)
Brian McKnight is one of those veterans who never seem to sleep. He dropped a new single, “42,” last week and it ain’t half bad. It made me wanna revisit his 1997 album, featuring my all-time favorite Brian track, “Anytime.” Few artists are this consistent.

I love these weirdos. The FBZ are the embodiment of those classic 90s posse cuts with a millennial mindset. They’re fresh and hungry, yet their music rings with familiarity. Their 2016 debut greatly exceeded my expectations, giving me hope that we may have rap’s next great group on our hands.
