New Music: K.L.U.B. Monsta, ‘Pre Season’

Finally, K.L.U.B. Monsta’s got the ball again.

Longtime Birmingham friends Joshua, Kel Ricks, and J. Dotta – collectively known as K.L.U.B. Monsta – have spent the last few years adding to Alabama’s rich musical heritage with their own brand of fiery, introspective hip-hop. After taking a bit of a hiatus following their 2013 project CANVAS, the K.L.U.B. is ready to get back on the court.

Produced by Rafeal “Anthem” Brown, K.L.U.B. Monsta says the inspiration for “Pre Season” comes straight from the beat itself. “Certain beats just hit you and immediately you are inspired. This is one of those,” Joshua said. “People sometimes put us in a box of this type of music or that type of music so certain beats just bring out the raps and we just enjoying putting dope words together.”
