Flashback Friday: LeToya Luckett and Ja Rule
In the working world, Friday is the only day that matters.
Unless you’re one of those poor souls who also works Saturday and Sunday.
I feel your pain. I’ve been there. Thankfully, we’ve got some music to ease those wounds.
LeToya Luckett, LeToya (2006)
Former Child of Destiny LeToya is releasing her third solo album today, so I can’t think of a better time to revisit her surprisingly great debut. Back in ’06, many fans were skeptical about LeToya’s return to the limelight, especially when even Kelly Rowland failed to climb from Beyonce’s massive shadow. But LeToya was undeterred, dropping a great debut single and equally solid album.

Ja Rule, The Last Temptation (2002)
Since Ja Rule is Twitter Public Enemy No. 1 thanks to the Fyre Festival fiasco (hit Google if you missed that nightmare), I figured we’d take it back to Ja’s final shining moment. Don’t get me wrong, The Last Temptation is NOT a good album but it was the last time Ja would make his mark on the charts. Thankfully he gave us a couple of decent tracks before his decline. Emphasis on “a couple.”
