Flashback Friday: Chance the Rapper and T.I.
My man Friday is here — always a sight for sore eyes. Y’all ready to celebrate? Here’s a playlist for your day.
Chance the Rapper, Acid Rap (2013)
Chance’s newest mixtape dropped last week and of course Twitter has already hailed it a modern day classic.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the mixtape certainly isn’t a bad effort — in fact, it might just be his best yet. But chill on the classic labels.
To calm your nerves, check out Chance’s 2013 effort, the project that really raised his stock. It still holds up.

T.I., King (2006)
Most of you know I’ve been hot and cold on Tip over the years — mainly because his work can be so wildly inconsistent. But the one time I truly bought the hype was his 2006 album, which made him a mainstream star without compromising his gritty roots. I still refuse to show love to “Why You Wanna” but besides that disaster, King is worthy of its royal reputation.
