Flashback Friday: Jaheim and Cam’Ron

Happy Friday, playas! While my weekend likely will be filled with household repairs and busy work (yay homeownership) I hope yours is much more restful.

But before we get to the weekend, it’s time to flash back.

still ghetto

Jaheim, Still Ghetto (2002)

Jaheim’s new album Struggle Love hits stores/streaming outlets/your neighborhood barbershop today. Check out our review here. The album’s pretty solid but it’s tough topping Jah’s sophomore effort, arguably his best work. It features several of his signature hits.

Also check out:

“Put That Woman First”

“Diamond In da Ruff”

killa season

Cam’ron, Killa Season (2006)

Ah Cam, hip-hop’s greatest guilty pleasure. It’s been far too long since Killa’s given us a new LP–  we’re nearing the 10 year mark, in fact. Killa Season might not be Cam’s best-known work but it was arguably the last good album of the Dipset era. Half of the tracks here never left my rotation.

Also check out:

“Get ‘Em Daddy (Remix),” featuring Hell Rell, J. R. Writer and Jim Jones

“Killa Cam (Intro),” featuring 40 Cal.
