Listen Up: Sum, “Oblivion”

Over the course of hip hop history, some of the game’s premier storytellers have journeyed beyond our atmosphere for inspiration. Afrika Bambaataa, OutKast, Dr. Octagon, Eightball & MJG – it’s not unusual for your favorite emcees to spit bars from beyond the stars.

Sum is the next artist to hit us with his unearthly flow. The Los-Angeles-based emcee’s latest, “Oblivion,” is the latest single from his album Dragon Vol. 1. He describes “Oblivion” as “an overview of the past, a prayer for the future and a space fable all in one.”

Sum’s unique approach to the game continues to push the boundaries of conventional rap. Check out this space age pimpin’ below.
