Listen Up: Von Taé, “Saturday Night Fever”

Without question, this has been the Summer of Dance.

Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke – they’ve all found success on the dance floor. Pretty soon, we’ll be adding Von Taé to that list.

Von Taé, a 21-year-old native of Maryland, certainly emodies energy and showmanship. He’s been performing since the age of seven and credits Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Luke James, Lady Gaga, Prince, and Beyonce for influencing his style.

His latest single, “Saturday Night Fever,” borrows a bit from all those veterans. Infused with elements of funk and disco, “Saturday Night Fever” is Von Taé’s declaration of dance, urging listeners to lose their cares to the music. It’s perfect cut for those late night summer parties and serves as a nice teaser for Von Taé’s upcoming album, My Own Religion, in the fall.
