I’ve taken many Southern rappers to task for their lack of ambition and lyrical prowess. Let’s be honest, there’s a ton of mediocrity down South that is being disguised as “innovation.”

Allow me to introduce a true Southern innovator, Eric Biddines.

Biddines’ style definitely conjures memories of Southern icons like Goodie Mob. But instead of strictly mimicking, he injects his own personality to the mix. The result is a sound unlike anything currently being shoved down our throats on radio or BET.
