Flashback Friday: Ali Soundtrack and Keith Sweat

It’s Friday, the perfect day to get festive AND nostalgic.

Javacia loves movie soundtracks.

Ali soundtrack (2001)

Jai said: I know I tend to highlight a lot of soundtracks on this feature, but when you ask artists to submit their best work for a project you’re bound to get a masterpiece collection. The soundtrack for the movie Ali certainly followed suit and included classics like Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way.”

“The Greatest,” Everlast
“Fight,” Alicia Keys

Why yes, Keith Sweat has a Christmas album. Edward has proof:

Keith Sweat, A Christmas of Love (2007)

Edd said: Last year during class, one of the wifey’s students came to her and said “Mrs. Bowser, I just heard the worst Christmas song ever.” That song was Keith’s Christmas classic “Be Your Santa Claus.”  Y’all know the wife couldn’t WAIT to rub that in my face.

Let’ ’em hate. Besides “The Christmas Song,” Keith avoids remaking a bunch of classics. Instead he’s just up to his old tricks (lovin’ the ladies) with a holiday twist. He even has a couple “Jesus is reason for the season” tracks thrown in to make your grandma smile. It’s feel good music for a celebratory time of year. I’ll be sure Javacia and her rotten elf student get coal this year.

“All I Want For Christmas”
“Once A Year”
