Flashback Friday: Xzibit and Justin Timberlake

Y’all know Friday is our favorite day around here. Not just because it means the end of another work week – it’s also the beginning of another time-travel adventure.

Look what we pulled out of the archives today:

40 dayz and 40 nightz

Xzibit, 40 Days & 40 Nights (1998)

Before he was pimpin’ rides and blowing up Lucious Lyon on Empire, Mr. X to the Z was one of the most prominent rappers on the West Coast. His 1998 album was probably the height of his musical fame, which gave us “What U See Is What U Get.” It’s still one of the best rap videos ever.

Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience (2013)

Soooo, Justin Timberlake is rumored to be in talks to perform at next year’s Super Bowl and Twitter is HOT, screaming “appropriation” and “Justice for Janet Jackson” and whatever else. I’ll save my thoughts for another post (hint: the issue isn’t nearly as cut-and-dried as the Think Piece Posse claims) but regardless of politics, you can’t deny the greatness of JT’s 2013 comeback album.
