Flashback Friday: Anthony Hamilton and Deborah Cox

Y’all in the mood for some great R&B this Friday? You’re in the right place. Check out these albums.

the point of it all

Anthony Hamilton, The Point of It All (2008)

Anthony Hamilton’s debut album is one of my favorite R&B albums of the past decade, but his 2008 isn’t far behind. Despite a few strong singles, the album itself didn’t get the shine it deserved. If you missed out on it, take a listen. Southern soul never sounded so good.

one wish

Deborah Cox, One Wish (1998)

We’re gonna have to rename Flashback Friday “Tanukid’s Takes” – the homie always drops off hits. This week is no exception:

“I’ve been listening to Deborah Cox’s One Wish and it’s such a gem! With all the Whitney-isms and what not,” Tanukid said. “A great sophomore effort.” All facts. This one still stands as Deborah’s best work.
