This year at Soul In Stereo, we’re spending 25 days featuring 25 of our favorite underrated Christmas songs — those songs that bring back wonderful memories, yet few people seem to know them. Let’s give those songs the shine they deserve.

Hailing from my home state of Virginia, the Soul Duo, Little Ida and Little Daddy, connected in the late ’60s to create one of the era’s most unheralded Christmas classics. There are plenty of angst-filled Christmas songs floating around, but few compare to the pain that this one projects. Their pain becomes our pleasure.
