Underrated Christmas Songs 2015, Day 15: Run-DMC, Christmas In Hollis

This year at Soul In Stereo, we’re spending 25 days featuring 25 of our favorite underrated Christmas songs — those songs that bring back wonderful memories, yet few people seem to know them. Let’s give those songs the shine they deserve.

The best thing about Run-DMC’s era of hip-hop was that it was fun. On this track, the crew finds Santa’s wallet and, because they were good little boys and didn’t rob ol’ St. Nick, they get a Christmas reward in the end. It’s like the plot of a cartoon Christmas special — I miss that kind of innocence in hip-hop.
