Flashback Friday: Miguel and Missy Elliott

Forget that stupid camel hyping up ‘Hump Day,’ we’re here for the weekend, playa. Here’s how we put it down at Soul In Stereo.

Miguel, All I Want Is You (2010)

I must admit, in regards to this album, I was pretty late to the party. I picked it up for my wife and wound up loving it as much as she did. I wouldn’t call Miguel “this generation’s Prince Rogers” as many have, but his creativity and eclectic compositions always keep the listener guessing. That’s a good thing.

Missy Elliott, The Cookbook (2005)

Yes, it has been almost TEN YEARS since we’ve last had a Missy album. She’s gotta do better. The Cookbook is probably my least favorite album in Missy’s catalog but it’s still a mighty fine effort. Now we just need a follow up. The streets are hungry, Mis!
