Flashback Friday: Mariah Carey and Childish Gambino
Look y’all, it’s Friday, I have a house filled with leftover Halloween candy and I’m in the mood for good music. I’m starting my day off RIGHT. You should too.
Mariah Carey, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009)
Mariah’s been dropping new music left and right in preparation for her new album next month. I gotta admit, I’m feeling “A No No.” Speaking of MC, I had a convo last week with a huge fan who considered Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel to be one of her best albums ever. I hiiiiiiiiiiiiiighly disagree but the album is by no means bad. What do you think?

Childish Gambino, Because the Internet (2013)
Donald Glover is my man and all but I really miss Rappin’ Gambino.
Not Singing Gambino. Or Funk Gambino. I’m talkin’ rapper rapper Gambino.
Though we’ve gotten glimpses in recent years, the last time we heard the Gambino of old was on his weighty sophomore album. It flew over the heads of some fans but it was a bit ahead of its time and still worthy of a listen.
