Flashback Friday: Miguel and Rick Ross
This Friday, we’re gonna turn back the clock five years and see what pops up in our earbuds.
Come with us to 2012, a pretty underrated year for R&B and hip-hop.
Miguel, Kaleidoscope Dream (2012)
I was chatting with my partners over at YouKnowIGotSoul.com last week about Miguel’s legacy, a conversation that almost always peaks with “Adorn.” It might be THE best R&B song in the past 10 years. But the man is bigger than one hot single – his sophomore album is a tremendous showcase of his talent. We can only hope that his upcoming release is this good.

Rick Ross, God Forgives, I Don’t (2012)
Well, most longtime Soul In Stereo fans know that I’m not the biggest fan of the Biggest Bawse. He’s got plenty of hits, no doubt, but he’s just so wildly inconsistent. God Forgives, I Don’t, however, is one of his better albums. It’s loaded with deep album cuts that show off his versatility.
