Need some help getting through your Friday? That’s what we’re here for. Check out these old favorites.

Teedra Moses, Complex Simplicity (2004)

HBO’s “Insecure” has become a huge hit and a lot of that success has to be credited to the show’s phenomenal soundtrack. Each week the show consistently features awesome – but overlooked – R&B and hip-hop bangers. Give Teedra Moses props for making last week’s episode so special. When the initial notes of “You Better Tell Her” blasted from my TV I nearly jumped off the couch. Teedra’s debut album has become a cult classic in R&B circles – and for good reason. I implore you, if you love R&B and haven’t heard this album, correct that oversight immediately.

Nas & Ill Will Present QB’s Finest (2000)

Ah, the dark days of Nas’ career. Admittedly, Nas’ compilation with his Queensbridge cohorts doesn’t hold a candle to his solo work. But hey, compared to 60% of the stuff I’ve heard in 2017, this thing sounds like an album of the year contender.  QB’s Finest does feature a few notable East Coast tracks, including the most infamous one below.

Also check out:

“Self Conscience” – Nas and Prodigy

“Da Bridge 2001” – Capone, Cormega, Marley Marl, MC Shan, Millennium Thug, Mobb Deep, Nas, Nature and Tragedy Khadafi
