Hoping an Attitude of Gratitude Will Save the Day

 
 
I should be in a great mood. I had the day off today and I’ve had a pretty awesome weekend. But I’m in a funk for many reasons including an incident with a jerk at the gym, the stress of juggling freelance writing gigs with my full-time job, and my aching joints and muscles. I took a break from my to-do list and decided to drop by Sometimes Sweet, one of my favorite blogs, and saw that Dani found herself in a similar funk on Sunday and decided to end her day with a gratitude list, something I often do as well. So I’m going to take a few moments to make one of my own in hopes that it will get me back on track. At this moment I am thankful for:
 
  • My amazing husband
  • The chance to have lunch with my husband today (which usually only happens in the summer)
  • My church small group girls, who will be over in a few hours
  • My gym membership (in spite of the jerks)
  • The beautiful running trail in my neighborhood (on which I ran Saturday and Sunday)
  • My new running shoes! (post about these coming soon)
  • My freelance writing opportunities
  • Black Girls Run! Birmingham
  • The chance to spend time with my mom, my cousin/BFF, my favorite aunt, and my brother this weekend
  • I was in a flash mob on Saturday!!!
