Underrated Christmas Songs, Day 4: The O’Jays, “I Can Hardly Wait For Christmas”

Every year at Soul In Stereo, we spent 25 days featuring our favorite holiday songs. But this year, we’re featuring the 25 most underrated Christmas songs — those songs that bring back wonderful memories, yet few people seem to know them. Let’s give those songs the shine they deserve.

Full disclosure: I had no idea this song even existed until about five years ago, when my in-laws were playing it during the holidays. How did I go  through life not knowing this joint? Sure the lyrics are ridiculously naive  but those vocals — they’re as pure as Christmas Eve snow.
