Guilty Pleasures: The-Dream, “Purple Kisses” and “Michael”
We all have guilty pleasures, those songs that have no business on our iPods or the tracks we only blast with the windows rolled all the way up in our rides. In this column we share our darkest musical secrets.
It’s no secret that while I’m a fan of The-Dream’s songwriting prowess, I’m not all that big on his actual artistry.
At. All.
But this space ain’t about me, it’s about y’all. Both D’von Pettway and Cassandra Jordan are big Dream fans, specifically the songs “Purple Kisses” and “Michael,” respectively. These Dream fans certainly stick together.
Well, if you’re gonna force me to listen to Dream songs, I can deal with songs that shout out both Prince and Michael Jackson.

My guilty pleasure is probably Motivation by Normani. It has a nice beat, catchy melodies, and has an AMAZING music video.
