Flashback Friday: Fantasia and Cam’ron
It’s Friday, it’s October and it’s literally 100 degrees in the south.

Anyway, let’s turn back the clock to the days when we actually had seasons.
Fantasia, The Definition of… (2016)
So if you’ve been following the Soulback Podcast, you know we’ve talked extensively about this album lately – Fantasia recently came out to express her dislike for it. I know her issues with this one stem from battles over creative control but from a technical aspect I don’t think it’s bad at all. My only beef is that Terminator 2-looking album cover.

Cam’ron, Killa Season (2006)
Have y’all seen the Amazon Prime TV commercial that uses Jeffery Osborne’s “On the Wings of Love?” Every time I hear it I can’t help but think of Cam’ron’s ridiculous “He Tried to Play Me,” which samples the same tune. Cam is such a curious case – his stilted cadence and bizarre metaphors seem like they’d be a turnoff but he delivers them with such confidence that you can’t help but be pulled in. Killa Season is filled with similar guilty pleasures. We’re LONG overdue for another solo Cam LP.
